The-journey-of-FORMA-MARINE

a greek family business crafting marine furniture since 1979

FORMA MARINE is a Greek family-owned
manufacturer specializing in handcrafted folding boat chairs and tables.
Founded in Athens in 1979 by Agis Zografos, the company continues to design and
manufacture its marine furniture in Greece, combining traditional craftmanship
with practical innovation.

born from a love of the sea

For Agis Zografos, the sea was a part of life before it became a part of business.

That lifelong connection continues to influence the way forma marine designs furniture for people who live, work and relax on the water.

passionate sea lovers

Agis's grandfather was a passionate swimmer who passed his love of the sea to all six of his children. Agi’s father, Fotis, became a Greek swimming champion in the 1930’s.

Following this family tradition, Agis played water polo and remains an active participant in international swimming competitions.

The family's deep connection to the sea has shaped the philosophy and identity of FORMA MARINE  from the very beginning.

THE START -1979

from a small Athens workshop to an international Marine Furniture Manufacturer

In 1979, after completing his military service, Agis Zografos established a small manufacturing work shop in a family-owned   warehaus in Athens, Greece.

With determination, technical knowledge and a clear vision, he began producing folding furniture using aluminum tubing. What started as a small workshop gradually developed into a specialized manufacturing business, supplying folding marine furniture to boat owners around the world.

Growing through design and manufacturing

Over the decades, FORMA MARINE has  accumulated extensive experience  in the design and manufacture of folding marine furniture.

Working alongside experienced  furniture designers, the company has developed new models that combine elegance, comfort, durability and practical functionality.

Each new design reflects the same objective: to create reliable, space-saving furniture that meets the demanding requirements of life at sea.

BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE SEA

The success of FORMA MARINE has always depended on the dedication and craftmanship of its people.

Many of our employees joint the company early in their working lives and have remained with us for decades, becoming an essential part of FORMA MARINE family.

Their experience, attention to detail, and pride in their work are reflected in every chair and table we manufacture.

We believe that skilled craftmanship, teamwork, and respect for manual work are among the company's greatest strengths.

2006 - STARTING AGAIN

IN 2006, A DEVASTATING FIRE DESTROYED OUR FACTORY, MACHINERY, MATERIALS AND STOCK. RATHER THAN ABANDON THE BUSINESS THEY HAD BUILT OVER THE PREVIOUS DECADES, THE FAMILY DECIDED TO START AGAIN. WITHIN DAYS, NEW PREMISSES WERE FOUND AND PRODUCTION GRADUALLY RESUMED.

The difficult experience became a defining chapter of FORMA MARINE's history, reinforcing the values of resilience, determination, and long-term commitment to manufacturing.

THE PRESENT

A FAMILY BUSINESS ACROSS GENERATIONS

More than four decades after its founding, FORMA MARINE remains a family-owned business, combining decades of manufacturing experience with ideas and expertise of a new generation.

Founder Agis Zografos continues to contribute his manufacturing knowledge and lifelong experience, with the ideas and expertise of a new generation.

Recently, his wife Olga, assumed ownership and management of the company, building on her many years of responsibility for its financial and accounting operations.

Their eldest daughter, Daphne, an accomplished architect and designer, contributes on a part-time basis, bringing fresh design ideas and exploring new business opportunities, for FORMA MARINE.

Their youngest daughter, Artemis, a software engineer, is leading the company's digital transformation, helping FORMA MARINE embrace new technologies and adapt to the opportunities and challenges of a increasingly AI driven world.

Together the family is working to preserve the company's manufacturing heritage while preparing FORMA MARINE for the future.

 MADE IN GREECE

 Crafted by People Who Care

Every FORMA MARINE chair and table is proudly manufactured in our own factory in Kalyvia, near Athens, Greece.

Behind our furniture stands a dedicated team of skilled craftspeople, many of whom have been part of our journey for decades.

They take genuine pride in knowing that the furniture they create with their own hands brings comfort and enjoyment to boat owners in more than 25 countries around the world.

For us, craftsmanship is more than a manufacturing process. It is a tradition built on experience, dedication, and personal care.

From Our Hands to Your Boat

 Every detail matters

We carefully bend and assemble our anodized aluminum frames, sew durable marine-grade fabrics, and shape and finish the wooden components, including our signature teak armrests.

Each piece is assembled and inspected by our team before leaving our factory.

Our philosophy is simple: create elegant, practical, and durable marine furniture designed to provide years of reliable service.

We also design our products with replaceable components helping extend their useful life and reduce unnecessary waste.

 A Promise We Take Personally

Since 1979, our family and our team have shared the same commitment: to create exceptional folding marine furniture
and earn the trust of every customer.

We believe that the true value of a product lies not only in its design and materials, but also in the people, knowledge, and care behind it.

Our greatest satisfaction is knowing that somewhere in the world, someone is enjoying a piece of furniture we proudly made in Greece.
